One hot August night in Brookhaven, Mississippi, Jim is out on his back patio peering into the void of space with his telescope. Soon after, he detects these strange-looking signals dancing across the screen of his highly sophisticated computer setup—patterns resembling code—He is astounded! A software program he developed; finally breaks the code.
First Contact has now been established.
With this in mind and what his wife had told him just before she died 10 years earlier, he was led to believe that life does exist, somewhere, even after death.
On a NASA website, Jim seeks out an area these signals seemed to be coming from, but this causes some powerful people from the government to come calling. Soon after, two men from NASA burst into his home; questioning a picture he downloaded from their website. They arrest him and transport him to a NASA facility in Texas.
Along their way there, they stop for a bite to eat at an off-road Diner. Soon, a secret team of assigns pull in and attack them; shooting up the Diner.They had to leave; but with the pretty waitress they still owed for their food. A high-speed car chase and a deadly gun-fight ensues, leaving an AF Lieutenant, and the two Russian (KGB) attackers, very dead.
In the weeks to follow, Jim is subjected a scrutinizing barrage of tests and eventually ends up in the Astronauts Training Camp. A group of highly specialized astronauts from around the world are then assembled and NASA launches them from the new International Space Station on a highly classified mission to an unknown planet...
Six years later, on their return flight to earth, death and destruction are now present aboard ship; mixing steamy romance, with immoral sabotage trying to uncover an unknown crew member that has its country’s honor at stake.
